Dear Parent/Guardian,

Flu season is here! Please be courteous when deciding if your student is well enough to return to school. The following things are some of the main reasons to NOT send your student to school:

  • FEVER within the last 48 hours---If medicine was given, allow 24 hours without medicine
  • Vomitting within the last 24 hours
  • Diarrhea within the last 24 hours
  • An undiagnosed rash
  • A pink/red eye that is being treated by a doctor

Please allow your student to be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school. These are just some of the main things to look for in your decision. If your child has these symptoms and you are worried about absenses, please call me. We do not want your student to feel bad here at school, nor do we want to compromise the health of others.

Thank you for everything you do ! Help us keep the germs spread to a minimum!

Your School Nurse at OES,

Nurse Shaveka Gross, LPN
